About Us

EDO ARTS AND CULTURAL HERITAGE INSTITUTE was founded in October, 2004 as a non-profit organization. The Institute currently has ten Executive Officers and a nine-member Board of Trustees. It has its Head Office in Chicago, USA and a branch in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The Institute has most of its members in the United States, Nigeria and Europe.

The Institute is committed to pride itself in Edo history and to promote Edo arts and cultural awareness between Edo Kingdom and the world. The Institute seeks to use all resources available to it in finding solutions to the lack of historical documentation and preservation, so that Edo arts and culture will take its place in the annals of world history.

Edo Arts and Cultural Heritage Institute is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, historical and cultural purposes. To accomplish its mission, the institute proposes to establish partnerships with other agencies committed to the needs of the disadvantaged or impoverished in Africa and the United States. For such purposes, the Institute plans on making contributions to organizations that qualify as tax-exempt under section 501 (c) (3) of the US Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
